Colorful Wedding at Alta Lakes Observatory in Telluride
There’s something magnetic about couples who throw out the rulebook & decide to plan a day that’s entirely, unapologetically them. That was Lauren & Parker through & through.
They didn’t try to fit their wedding into a mold. Instead, they created a celebration that felt like their favorite memories. It was relaxed, colorful, a little wild, & rooted in the joy of just being together. Their wedding at Alta Lakes Observatory in Telluride wasn’t just about a beautiful ceremony (though, trust me, it was jaw-droppingly gorgeous). It was about inviting their people into a shared experience that felt like one big, fun backyard BBQ, with epic mountain views.
From the start, Lauren & Parker wanted their day to feel like the best kind of summer gathering: laid-back, laughter-filled, & bursting with personality. No strict schedules. No stuffy traditions. Just lawn games, good food, & time to actually spend with their guests. And they picked the perfect place to do it at Alta Lakes Observatory.
Alta Lakes Observatory: A Hidden Gem in the San Juans
If you’ve never been to Alta Lakes, let tell you a bit more about this hidden gem. It’s nestled in the San Juan Mountains outside of Telluride, surrounded by alpine peaks, evergreen forests, & a number of lakes. There’s a private little lake right by the historic log cabin where couples can stay, complete with canoes, hammocks strung between the trees, & the privacy you’d want from a place like this.
It’s rustic, remote, & completely magical. Getting there involves a bumpy mountain road with little to no cell service & no distractions, just the people you love. Or in this case, a floral-filled, joy-drenched wedding. Lauren & Parker didn’t hold back when it came to personality. Color was the name of the game with floral prints, bright arrangements, & a fun, colorful vibe! Parker even wore a fun floral-patterned shirt.
Also, they had a ring bear. Not ring bearer—bear. They had someone suited up in a bear costume, which completely stole the show in the best way! It was moments like these that made the day so deeply them. No stress, just pure fun.

They turned it into a living scrapbook of their love, one filled with bright florals, cozy cabin vibes, spontaneous dancing, & the best kind of memories.
