Small backyard wedding in Telluride, Colorado.

Intimate Backyard Telluride Wedding in the Mountains

Kylie & Quentin booked an absolutely beautiful vacation rental near Telluride, Colorado up in the Mountain Village area. The home had enough room for their family & guests to stay, & it also had great views with access to the trails & ski runs around the area. Although it was a simple day, Kylie & Quentin found many ways to make their day special. They got some beautiful (& delicious) cookies from Alma Kitchen. They also had a simple cake with florals from Sagebrush Cakes. Little details like this really made their wedding day in Telluride feel special.

Backyard Wedding Ceremony with Mountain Views of the Telluride Valley

Backyards in the Telluride & Mountain Village areas are not your typical backyards because these backyards have mountains! While Kylie finished up getting ready, the guests were seated in the backyard. Kylie’s dad walked her down the aisle & her brother was their officiant. Their pup, Lincoln, was such a handsome guy as well! I always love when couples include their dogs! Telluride is also such a dog-friendly area. Many areas in the national forest do not allow setups, but since this is a private property they were able to set up chairs & the flowers from Bridal Veil Floral really tied it all together.

Adventuring Around Last Dollar Road Outside of Telluride

If you’ve never been to Last Dollar Road, it is truly a beautiful spot for wedding photos in the Telluride area! You definitely need to be careful if it has been raining recently & a vehicle with at least a little clearance is going to be needed. It was raining a bit on their wedding day in Telluride, but the thing about rain in the mountains of Colorado is that it doesn’t last long. Rain comes & goes so it is never downpouring all day as it can in other areas. While their family got the reception place back at the rental home set up, I drove Kylie & Quentin out to Last Dollar & we got some really beautiful wedding photos for them with the mountains of the Telluride area as a backdrop. I always say that my goal with photos is not to capture how comfortable you are in front of a camera. I am there to capture how comfortable you are with each other!

Reception & Dinner back in Mountain Village

After coming back from the Last Dollar Road area, Kylie & Quentin came back to a nice dinner setup & some great Italian food from Rustico. One of my favorite little details from the day was their hand-painted champagne bottles that a friend did for them! You don’t always have to have a full reception but just a nice dinner with family can be a great way to wind down from your wedding day.
