My photography style

May 10, 2017

You have a lot of photographers to pick from when it comes to your wedding day, engagement session, or senior photos. I thought I’d share a little bit about my photography style. Then you decide if I am the right photographer for you! and if not, no worries.

Maybe you saw my earlier blog post about film photography, if not the basic run down is that I am loving film! Film photography is what my style is based on. I love the soft, pastel, romantic look that film can give and I look to replicate that in all of my photography.

I love images that are bright, warm, and evoke emotions. I try to bring out real emotions in my clients and my favorite photographs are the candid ones. I use a combination of natural light and flash to achieve the look and style that I want. Photography literally means to “draw or paint with light” so it is important for me as a photographer to know how to control and use all sorts of light well.

I love to get natural expressions and emotions from my clients through minimal directing and posing. I will pose you and direct you when needed but sometimes I just like to let things flow so I can capture you as you.

I am also a huge nature lover, I practically grew up outdoors. I get inspiration from nature seeing the warm light of the sun and the beautiful colors and patterns in nature. I love to incorporate natural elements into my images whenever I can, I think they add so much character.

I hope this has helped you to learn a little more about me and what I do!
