2 Day Elopement in Moab Exploring Arches, Canyonlands, & Dead Horse
Terry & Rose had such a unique adventure elopement spread across two whole days in early November from sunrise to sunset in Moab. I had such a hard time narrowing down allll the amazing images to try to just pick a few to showcase here. Terry & Rose first booked me for a full day elopement, but they became excited with all the location options around Moab, they just wanted to do it all & have me capture it all. Rose had 2 dresses she wore on different occasions for different spots, & Terry had 2 different colored suits he wore during the days they spent exploring around Moab.
Arches National Park at Sunrise
These two started an early morning getting ready at their suite in Moab & then we were off to Arches National Park to catch sunrise & explore the arches. It started off a bit cool in the morning but definitely warmed up a bit when the sun came out. You can almost always count on a good sunrise & sunset in the desert with beautiful light due to the drier climate & sunnier weather.
Cliffside Ceremony & Canyonlands at Sunset
Terry & Rose invited their two closest friends to join them on their elopement in Moab. One was their officiant & their other friend acted as a witness. I got to sign as another witness for them & it’s something so special I get to do with some of the couples I work with! I had some ideas that a certain spot in Canyonlands would make for some epic sunset shots & especially good for some “tiny people, giant landscape” type of photos. The clouds added even more color & interest to the sunset. They signed & made it all official by the light of a fire lantern.
Exploring the Overlooks of Dead Horse Point at Sunrise
For day 2, we were up early again! We got to Dead Horse Point State Park a little before sunrise & the clear morning lit up the rock features & cliffs that surround the point. The good light doesn’t last long at Dead Horse, so you’ve got to be prepared, arrive early, & make the best of it!
Exploring Other Unique Areas Around Moab
Terry & Rose got ready for the afternoon & sunset portion of day 2 as we explored some hidden gems of Moab. We went downtown to take photos with the Moab mural where it looks like they’re walking right into a postcard & then went off exploring some areas outside of the parks. They wanted to go see this short hike up to a desert waterfall & then we were off to see some more arches. They are so many arches that are outside of the national parks that are definitely worth exploring. And after 2 days, they wanted to end the time with a campfire, s’mores, & stargazing which is just such a fun way to end your elopement!
