Adventure Vow Renewal on New Zealand’s South Island

Aimée & Rob are good friends of mine, & when they asked Kaleb & I, along with Bill & Traci, some other friends of ours, to come along– we of course jumped at the opportunity! They had their vow renewal ceremony on New Zealand’s South Island. The actual place where they had their vow renewal in New Zealand is actually the place of Isengard, a fictional place from Lord of the Rings. AND it is the exact spot where Taylor Swift filmed one of her music videos. Aimée & Rob are big fans of both, so it was a really fun coincidence!

Vow Renewal Ceremony on the River

We started by getting Aimée & Rob ready in our Airbnb overlooking Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown. Aimée had chosen some fun details to wear & use for their vow renewal in New Zealand. After they were ready, we were off to a little area along a stream with lots of lupines framing the mountainous backdrop. Aimée & Rob have been to New Zealand before & they chose this area along the Dart River as the spot for their ceremony. I even helped Aimée get ready for their vow renewal by fixing up her hair! It’s not something I do all time time, but growing up with sisters & learning to braid horses, I know a thing or two about basic hair styling. When the sunset lighting had dissipated some, they shared some dessert & danced to some of their favorite songs.

Photography at Milford Sound & Fiordlands

After some time spent in Queenstown, we headed down to the Fiordlands area of New Zealand. Milford Sound is such a STUNNING gem of New Zealand, but even just the drive there was gorgeous. We were all just left in awe of the natural beauty we found everywhere & around every corner in New Zealand. We spent some time in Auckland & the North Island, but the South Island was definitely our favorite. Aimée loves Milford Sound so much, she even has it tattooed on her back so we definitely had to get some photos showing it off. I again helped Aimée with her hair which was so fun being able to help one of my best friends for such a special occasion! Their 10 year vow renewal in New Zealand is something I will never forget & it was just an incredible experience to be a part of.
