Srđ Hill gives you those epic views. Lokrum Island is just a short boat ride away & perfect if you want nature close to the city.

Hvar, Croatia

Hvar is sunny, lively, & full of charm. You’ll find winding stone streets, quiet coves, & views of the sea that honestly feel endless. There’s just something about the way the light hits this island that makes everything feel a little more romantic. It’s popular, but there are still quiet corners if you know where to look. Plaža Lučišće is one of the most beautiful little coves on this island that I highly recommend checking out. It has blue waters & is seemingly carved right into the surrounding cliffs.

The weather is comfortable, the cities are quieter, & you can explore without as many crowds. By June, the water is warm enough for swimming & it’s a great time to be out on the water in a boat.

Summer (July–August): Peak Vibes, Busy Beaches- Summer in Croatia is full of life! The days are long, the water is warm, & the islands are buzzing with activity. This is the best season for boat days, beach swims, & golden sunsets that stretch late into the evening. It is also the busiest time of year, especially in places like Dubrovnik, Split, & Hvar. That does not mean it is off the table, it just means timing matters. Early mornings, quieter islands, & more remote locations can still give you space + privacy. If you love warmth & that full summer feeling, this time of year delivers.

Fall (September–October): Golden Light, Wine Harvests- Fall might be the most underrated season to elope in Croatia. September still feels like summer, but with fewer people. Zagreb is the capital & a good option if you’re starting inland or planning to explore the north, like Istria or Plitvice. All three airports are international, & flights from most of Europe are quick & affordable. Once you land, it’s easy to connect to other cities by bus, car, or ferry.

Ferries are a big part of getting around Croatia, especially if you’re visiting the islands. They’re frequent, scenic, & chill, but they do run on tight schedules, so be sure you’re on time!
